Holiday Insurance Information
Holiday insurance
Holidays are great fun and no one likes to approach them thinking the worst. But if you start out with the right sort of holiday insurance cover then any problem you might have (and problems do happen!) may just turn out to be a minor inconvenience.
While holidays today are generally a lot safer than they used to be there is always the chance that something will go wrong and this is where holiday insurance can help provide cover and protection when things do go wrong.
Not only will the holiday insurance cover costs incurred but it also provides 'peace of mind' that enables you to relax during your trip.
Think about it, do you really need holiday insurance? Your car insurance may already cover you for driving abroad and your house insurance policy may well cover some of your possessions when you take them on holiday with you. So do you need additional holiday insurance?
The answer is almost certainly yes. Holiday insurance can be tailored to meet your needs both expected and unexpected.
When calculating the cost of your holiday insurance quote several factors are taken into account including where you are travelling to, how long for and how much cover you require.
As a rule of thumb, the lower the amount of cover offered the cheaper the policy is. But the cheapest policy may not be the best. Check what cover is on offer for the following categories.
Personal belongings
- Cash
- Medical expenses
- Personal accident
- Cancellations and curtailment
- Delays
- Legal expenses
The cheapest holiday insurance quote may not be the best for you, have a look at the detail, and if in doubt contact us for advice.
Think of the activities you are likely to participate in on your holiday. It is easier to arrange your insurance ahead of time rather than leaving it until you are about to depart.
So if you are planning to bungee jump, go heli skiing or white water rafting tell your insurer and they can arrange a policy to suit your needs. This may be more expensive but at least you'll be covered in the event of an accident.
